Anyone who listens to hip hop music has noticed the repeated reference of a drug named “Molly”. People really started to research and ask around about Molly after hip hop superstar Kanye West used it on the popular G.O.O.D Music track Mercy “Something about Mary, she gone off that Molly”. Shortly after we noticed these references:
“Got your girl on Molly and we smokin loud and drinkin”-2 Chainz on Nicki Minaj’s Beez In The Trap
“Them bitches assed out, Molly pop, they all bi”- Ace Hood on I’m Fucked Up
“Now you know I’m on that Molly, I’m not trying to poly.” French Montana on Molly
“Got your little sister on the Molly.” Gucci Mane on Trap Back
“Pop a Molly, smoke a blunt. That mean I’m a high roller.” Lil Wayne on Nicki Minaj’s Roman Reloaded
“She on Molly, she with Mary, at the same damn time.” Wale on Rick Ross Same Damn Time Remix
It seems Molly has gone mainstream overnight and is now the new drug of choice.
What is Molly?
Molly is considered to be MDMA(methylenedioxy-N-methylamphetamine is an entactogenic drug of the phenethylamine and amphetamine classes of drugs) in its purest form. Unlike Ecstasy it is supposed to be uncut, without other drugs or filters, such as baking soda.
Is it illegal?
The possession of MDMA is illegal in the US.
What are the effects of Molly?
Molly affects users in a number of ways it causes craving and addiction in the brain, but it can also lead to changes in mood and body temperature.
Most of the time, Molly is mixed with another drug. The effects strongly depend on your tolerance, what drug it is mixed with, and how much of each drug is used. Users will experience what is called “tissue dependency”; the body can become dependent on the stimulant effects that the drug provides. This type of dependency is what leads the body to crash after the drug wears off. Users will feel the urge to take another dose in order to get the stimulant effect again.
Has anyone overdosed on Molly?
Statistics provided by the United States and the United Kingdom showed only 7 MDMA-related deaths per million users of the substance.
