A statement was made Friday night by a Jonesboro Police saying that they received a 911 call about a suspicious vehicle driving without their headlights on. The police proceeded to say that is the reason they stopped the vehicle. When they searched everyone who was present in the vehicle they found “bags” of marijuana on Carter that was only 10 dollars worth. They found a little bag of marijuana but didn’t find a gun? How is that possible? They handcuffed and placed Carter in the back of a police car where the unexplained sequence of events followed. (For prior details of the story -CLICK HERE)

According to Jonesboro Police, “Investigators were called to the scene and began processing the evidence, photographing and securing evidence. A small .380 caliber cobra semi-auto firearm was discovered, as well as an expended case, and a projectile (which was recovered in the rear of the vehicle).”

Police say they interviewed “a number of witnesses” to the crime scene and all their statements matched the two officers report. According to the Jonesboro police, “statements are consistent with the statements of the officers and the evidence reflected by the dash-cam video of the responding officer, along with audio evidence from the backup officer.”

The Police continued, “the statements and video/audio evidence account for the officers’ actions from the beginning of the stop until the arrival of the ambulance and indicate that neither officer removed his weapon, fired a shot or was in a position to enter the vehicle where Carter was detained in a manner that would allow for them to injure Carter.”

Jonesboro Police also claim that the windows of the patrol car were up so there is no possibility of Carter being perforated by a bullet from outside of the patrol car. Police say the handgun, a small .380 caliber cobra semi-auto was recently reported stolen by a Jonesboro resident.

Spitters, does any of this make sense to you? Let us know what you think about this, because this makes no sense at all. I found it hard to believe an officer searched a man to find a tiny bag but missed a handgun that was allegedly in his possession. Which is why the FBI has taken the case!
