Charvis Carter, 21, was handcuffed and put into a patrol car, allegedly minutes later he was found with a bullet in his right temple, but how? I’m sure the police patted him down before arresting him and putting him in the car so where did the gun come from? Also if he was handcuffed how is it possible for him to put a bullet in his head? These are all the questions that cannot be answered and it’s the reason why an investigation is currently being launched to get to the truth.

Saturday night, in Jonesboro, Ark, police stopped a pickup truck where Chavis Carter was found as a passenger. When the truck was searched an officer reportedly found some marijuana, when check for records they found that Carter was wanted for a warrant in Mississippi, so the officers handcuffed him and put him in the back of their patrol car. The officers in question said they turned their backs for one second when they heard a loud sound coming from the car where seconds later they found Chavis Carter shot in the right temple and dead while still handcuffed.

“As protocol, he was handcuffed behind his back, double-locked and searched,” said Jonesboro Police Department Sgt. Lyle Waterworth in an interview with WREG-TV

The Police Department Sgt, Waterworth said he thinks Carter pulled out a hidden gun and shot himself. “Any given officer has missed something on a search, you know, be it drugs, be it knives, be it razor blades,” he said. “This instance, it happened to be a gun.”

Carter’s mother, Teresa Carter, doesn’t believe he shot himself, she told WREG-TV “I think they killed him,” she said. “My son wasn’t suicidal.” Carter’s mother mentioned that Carter was left-handed and he was shot in his right temple. “I just want to know what really happened. That’s all I want to know,” she said. The Jonesboro Police Department is looking at all angles now, and are now looking at the obvious angle that Chavis may have been shot by someone else.

This is sickening and only justice should be served. This looks like a classic case of more cops taking the law in their own hands; I don’t think we need an investigation to get to that truth.

Spitters, do you smell a bold faced lie? Nothing makes sense in this case. The two officers in question are currently on administrative leave while this investigation is in the works. What is most sickening of all is at the end of the day is no matter what a cop does their bosses will always defend them even when the truth is in everyone’s face, because they do not want to believe that a cop at their division is guilty of such atrocities. At the end of the day when a mere man is given the labeled the law, these heinous case will keep on showing their ugly heads. We at Newspitter send our condolences to Chavis Carter’s family and we pray that the investigation will get to the bottom of things. If Carter did in fact get shot by someone else (which is where all the points of the case is leading to), justice must be served! We will be sure to keep you updated as the investigation unfolds!
