If you haven’t heard the sad news already, well here it is now. Ghana’s president John Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills died shortly this afternoon at 37 military hospital in Accra, Ghana. There has been a statement released which states :

“It is with a heavy heart…that we announce the sudden and untimely death of the president of the Republic of Ghana.” It said the president was 68 years old and died a few hours after being taken ill but no further details were given.
