I swear people are not safe anywhere anymore! The shooting took place at a Century Theater located in Aurora Mall Colorado, as a sold out audience prepared to watch one of the biggest box office releases ever. The gunman said to be dressed in black armor and wearing a mask is now in police custody. The gunman has reportedly attacked separate midnight screenings of the Dark Knight Rises but this has not been confirmed by police yet.
It is being reported the gunmen walked into the movie through the emergency exit dressed in armor and a mask. It was too dark for people to notice the unusual attire and others thought it was a fanatic who was obsessed with the Dark Knight trilogy. As he walked in he began setting off tear gas. He then began shooting but some moviegoers who could not see the gunmen thought the gunfire was actually the movie.
When people began to realize what was happening some dropped to the floor and others immediately ran for the exits. Eyewitness Paul Otermat who was in the cinema at the time of the attack had this to say, “There were children at that show,” he told Sky News. “It was really crazy. He just walked in pretty casually. He just started firing. We waited until there was a lull in the firing, and then we crawled out of there.”
The gunmen stated to be a 24 year male of Indian descent. At 5:26am ET Barack Obama was notified by John Brennan, homeland security advisor, about the shooting.
