Don’t know what you’re going to be doing or where you’ll be in a few weeks but we hope that you will be at one of the biggest events that’s being thrown this summer. Not too long ago, Sponsor One was introduced to you all and in between the time that the last article was written up until now, the foundation has moved from what was just a thought and an idea to the creation of a star studded, exciting event.
Just a quick recap of the organization : Sponsor-One Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides educational assistance to children in the schools of rural Liberia, West Africa. The rural areas are the most underdeveloped areas of Liberia and many children grow up in these regions without ever receiving the quality of education they deserve. The few who do have the opportunity to become educated are faced with the overwhelming obstacles of poverty. Most students attend school without adequate materials, proper footwear, or a meal and majority of students walk hours to school in difficult conditions. (click here to read the full story).
Now the individuals behind this foundation have been working tirelessly to launch their first ever event in order to raise funds to support their cause. In an effort to really extend themselves and make a huge impact as an organization, Sponsor One has developed unique ways to raise funds for their programs. The ultimate goal is to spread the word about their cause in order to give back to the kids in Liberia. This event is a fundraiser that will help raise capital and awareness by organizing a series of benefit concerts annually. A large percentage of each ticket sold goes directly to the organization’s efforts to better the educational experience for the Liberian youth in poverty. Here are the details on the event :
