During Father’s Day weekend, Dwayne Wade’s ex-wife, Siovaughn Funches-Wade was arrested on five counts, two counts of attempted child abduction, two counts of unlawful visitation inference, and one count of resisting arrest. The arrest took place after Siovaughn refused to let Wade’s sister pick up her nephews so that they could catch a 3:05 pm flight from Chicago to Miami and spend time with their father that weekend. With all the drama that occurred, the kids missed their flight, but as always, D-Wade aka “Flash” came to the rescue and sent a private jet to go pick up his sons early Sunday morning.

After the arrest, Siovaughn was sent to the hospital after reports of experiencing difficulty breathing which lead her into thinking that she was suffering an asthma attack. Later on that Sunday, Wade instructed his lawyer to file an emergency motion to ask the judge to suspend Siovaughn’s visitation rights.

He stated:
“This court must take action to protect our minor children from further exposure to the present environment S.L. creates while they are in her care and preventing S.L. from exercising her parenting time in a manner that is harmful to our children.”

Though what she did was wrong, it is understandable that she is going through rough times having to lose custody of her kids and going through a divorce. Let’s not forget Wade’s current relationship with the beautiful Gabrielle Union. I mean, what ex-wife wouldn’t be jealous or feel some type of way after a huge upgrade like that? Talk about adding insult to injury. On a serious note though, these two need to finally settle their differences so that later on in the future when their sons are old enough to understand what is going on they will not have to result to choosing sides. Yes, Dwayne Wade is one of the best athletes on the planet and would be considered as a “Super Dad” but his sons also needs their mother in their life.
