On Monday night’s show we saw Evelyn’s assistant, Nia Crooks, slap Jennifer Williams on national TV. Yesterday morning Jennifer filed a lawsuit against Nia in New York and a criminal complaint against her in Florida. Jen claims that the attack has had lasting effects, still causing whiplash and post-traumatic stress.

At a recent radio interview in New York this is what Jen had to say, “I’m not going to hit you physically. I’m going to hit you with a lawsuit. I’m not tolerating abuse whether it’s from a man or a woman. You can’t put your hands on people and there be no repercussions.” I guess Jennifer knows how to make good on her word!

Jennifer’s lawyer, Sanford Rubenstein, later on explained why charges were being filed in two different states. “This civil complaint is being filed by Jennifer Williams to hold Nia Crooks accountable civilly for the assault and battery which took place on the episode of ‘Basketball Wives’ which aired the evening of April 16th 2012,” he said in a statement. “A criminal complaint filed by Jennifer Williams is presently under investigation by the office of the State’s Attorney in Florida.”

Jennifer is set to hold a press conference in NYC today about the charges.

    how can you even ask if jen is a coward for filing the suit. there is no question here. This is a very smart move. This show is an embarrassment to black women everywhere. The Evelyn character is obviously upset that Jen has new friends and have moved on from their relationship. But evelyn is so vile and petty, she sent in her dog of an assistant to assault Jen. She then had the nerve to attack Jen simply for speaking her mind back to her attacker. Jumping on tables, crying crocodile tears as if her pitbull of an assistant’s friendship means much to her. Evelyn is a trick(slept with chad first time meeting him), a whore(slept with tami’s husband) and a joke(who shops at her store, it’s always empty). Tami will stur whatever she has to stur to stay relevant. Shaunie is the worst one of all, she sets herself as this mother hen figure, yet does nothing when her friends are clearly acting a fool and doing wrong. Everything that happens on this show, i hold Shaunie O’Neal accountable, because she has final say on what goes down n what doesn’t. it is HER SHOW. If she does not want someone attacking anyone, she can put an end to it, but she doesn’t, because she only cares about ratings and lining her pockets. Poor Jennifer. I hope she sues evelyn’s rat animal of an assistant for every single penny she has, and then goes after that dirty whorebag evelyn.
