Zimmerman, the self- appointed neighborhood watch captain that stalked and killed 17 year old Trayvon Martin has been in hiding since that night. We’ve heard the 911 calls between the neighbors and the police dispatcher, we’ve heard Trayvon’s cries as he pled for his life during the final seconds of his existence and still, its not enough for a conviction. Although the proof stares everyone in the face, it is now March 24th and the robocop has yet to be in custody. Its a twisted world we live in. The undeniable truth is if Trayvon was the shooter, he would have been treated with the shorter end of the stick.

However the quest for justice for Trayvon continues. People nationwide have taken necessary actions to fight for what is right, including Mikhail Muhammad leader of the Black Panthers. Muhammad is now offering a $10,000 reward for the capture of George Zimmerman. The black panther leader made the announcement during a protest in Sanford on Saturday. When asked if he was encouraging violence, the leader boldly answers, “An eye for eye, a tooth for a tooth”. Muhammad says members of his group are going to be searching for him Maitland where Zimmerman worked prior to the shooting.

Muhammad said the group’s national chairman, Dr. Malik Zulu Shabaz of Washington, D.C. is receiving donations from black entertainers and athletes. They hope to collect $1 million by next week, Muhammad said. They will not release any names of their endorsers.

The group called for Zimmerman’s arrest and threatened to find and detain him if police were not willing to do so. But group members didn’t call for the mobilization of thousands until Saturday.
Muhammad led the group in chanting “Justice for Trayvon!” and “Black Power!”

“If the government won’t do the job, we’ll do it,” Muhammad said, leading his group of eight party members in chants like “freedom or death” and “justice for Trayvon” while making the iconic gesture of raising their fists into the air.

I wonder who these endorsers are. Violence is never the way, however when the justice system fails, you can’t blame the people for going into an uproar. We cannot remain speechless as we continue to be abused by the legal system. Stay tuned as we unfold more updates for the Quest for justice for Trayvon Martin and for the people.
