Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, 59, is 55 th president and first elected female president of Argentina. She earned a degree in law from the University of La Plata. In 1991, she was elected to the provincial legislature. For her hard work and determination she was repeatedly nominated for national deputy and national senator between 1995 and 2007. She won the election without any risks of a runoff with her nearest rival.
