Real Madrid, is a professional football club based in Madrid, Spain. It was founded in 1902 as Madrid Football Club and has traditionally worn a white home kit since. The word Real is Spanish for royal and was bestowed to the club by King Alfonso XIII in 1920 together with the royal crown in the emblem. The club is one of the most powerful soccer franchises in the history of Europen soccer and has established itself as a major force in both Spanish and European football during the 1950s. In recent news, the club is set to open what is considered to be called a Real Madrid Resort Island, which is a holiday resort on an artificial island in the United Arab Emirates scheduled to open in January 2015.

A presentation at the Bernabeu showed plans for sports facilities, a marina, luxury hotels and villas, an amusement park, a club museum and a 10,000-seat stadium with one side open to the sea.

“It is a decisive and strategic step that will strengthen our institution in the Middle East and Asia,” said Real president Florentino Perez.

The resort is reported to cost a cool $1 billion dollars with an estimated 4.6 million square foot. This venture will be in partnership with the government of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and is expected to attract million visitors in its first year of operation. That number will definitely sky-high depending on the success of the team along with other factors but i’m certainly looking forward for the completion of this dynamic looking resort.
