Are you ready to laugh your behind off until it hurts? Well make sure you have some water and a near-by bathroom just in case you might need it. A central Florida man by the name of Doyle Hardwick, 57, is now behind bars after calling 911 to complain that his wife would not let him check Facebook in peace.
Doyle Hardwick was arrested for misusing 911 in which he failed to appear for his 60 day sentence, therefore a warrant was issued for his arrest. According to Pasco County Sheriff’s report, Hardwick requested emergency services because he “just wanted someone to make my wife do what I wanted her to do”.
A summary of his call states:
(Caller) is upset because she won’t go to bed. (Caller) said he gave her beers so she would go to bed, now they are bickering about who has been drinking. (Caller) had 4 beers, wife has had 8 beers. (Caller) is upset because she wouldn’t let him look at Facebook peacefully.
Police arrived outside the couple’s trailer home and met with the wife, Julie Hardwick, 54. When they arrived, the husband was still on the phone with the 911 operator and he told police that he called 911 because he was “upset about his wife sitting next to him and not going to sleep after he gave her beers to go to sleep.”
Police then spoke with his wife who told them that “her husband asked her to not sit next to him and she told him she didn’t feel like sitting anywhere else.”
She said her husband threatened to call 911 and the police to make her go to bed.
After missing his jail sentence, Doyle finally turned himself in and is being held at the Land’O'Lakes detention center. Hardwick had been previously charged with misuse of 911. In May 2010 he called 911 for a ride to his daughter’s house, according to the incident report, as well as to report neighbors who had been “defecating in old vehicle fuel tanks.”
Sounds to me like someone has a fetish with dailing 911 for what i will classify as “stupid reasons” but they say alcohol can make you do some strange things so go figure.
