The HYPE around the Galaxy Faomposites has been one of the highest recorded buzz for a sneaker in the past decade. It is safe to say that the Galaxy Foams may well rank among the MOST sought after sneakers this decade.
Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James make up the Swoosh’s “Big 3″ and will be the only Nike players to have their signature sneakers given the ‘Galaxy’ treatment.
Sneaker fans across the United states have been anticipating the release date of the Foamposite Galaxy, Due the popularity of the shoe the key word “Galaxy Forms” has been on the top of trending for 2 days before the sneakers hits stores. Made of durable foamposite which ensures comfort in addition to resilience for the hefty price of $220. Inspired by space exploration, the galactic-themed sneakers are being released leading up to the 2012 NBA All-Star game in Orlando, Fla., home of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, for the first time in 20 years.
However, this morning it has been anything but peaceful at the Florida Mall in Orlando. Like Kanye would say, fanatics went H.A.M, or cuckoo for cocoa puffs for these special edition foams. Police were called to the scene dressed in riot gear to control the raucous crowd. Witnesses stated that the scene got dangerous at 9pm Thursday night as hundreds of potential customers occupied the mall parking lot prior to the midnight launch.
“I saw hundreds of people running toward me. I thought I was going to get trampled,” customer Amanda Charles told the Orlando Sentinel.
Helicopters were on site with hundreds of people around and all were gathered for what? Sneakers?! It’s very sad and funny when you look at the big picture.
Spitters, are a pair of Foamposites or any shoes worth putting priorities aside? And did you think the Galaxy Foams were worth this much commotion and why? Let your voices be heard!
