This makes me think back to when I was in relationship and all I remember telling myself is that I know I liked my boyfriends but I doubt that I liked/loved them enough to do what you’re about to read on what this man did.
A Canadian man drove approximately 220 miles with his dead wife beside him as they returned home from a holiday vacation in Oregon.
There’s something almost romantic but yet cynical about this whole situation but I can’t quite decide which feeling to go towards so I’ll just leave it be. Anyways a 71-year-old man told police that he only continued driving with his deceased wife because he simply didn’t know what to do. Only about 20 miles south of Canada was he able to pull over to call authorities to figure out whether he could cross the border with the dead body.

OnStar was able to put him in touch with dispatchers in Okanogan Country who convinced the man to stop in the town of Tonasket, WA. Local Police Chief Robert Burks said: ‘He wasn’t sure what to do, so he kept driving. I believe that different permits have to get done to get a body across. I think that’s all they’re waiting for.” So wait a minute, if I read that correctly he’s basically saying that you can bring a dead body across the border as long as you have a permit? Well that’s interesting. But anyways the woman was taken to the North Valley Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said they are not treating her death as suspicious but taking a body across the border requires certain paperwork. The woman’s body will remain in the U.S. until it can be legally transported across the border.

If this happened to you what would you do? Would you be able to drive 220 miles knowing a dead body was seated right next to you?
