On Thursday, Dec.1st, Bronx Community College’s African Student Association hosted their 1st annual beauty pageant, where 6 beautiful and talented females graced the stage with not only talent but graced their audience with intellect as well. The contestants are as follows: Contestant #1, Lisa had a beautiful voice and expressed her English background.
Contestant #2, Keyla performed a lovely belly dancing piece in her shiny hip decor while expressing her Spanish background. Contestant #3, Aisha, Guinea native, performed a hip hop dance piece and won the crowd’s favor! Contestant #4, Catherine sang acapella and moved the crowd with her warm energy. Contestant #5, Nora sang beautifully and also won the crowd’s favor with her graceful approach and talent.
Contestant #6, Ashley of Jamaican culture, read an original poetry piece and graced the stage with well poised approach. The pageant consisted of 6 scenes where the contestants modeled casual attire, business casual, culture attire, and swimsuits. The 5th scene was the contestants showing their talent; the 6th scene was the pageant questions. However, there could only be one winner and it was Contestant #5 Nora! She won the crowd with her beauty as well as her intellect while expressing her views on various topics. The night also showcased other talented individuals who were able to successfully express their passion.
The night successfully portrayed what motivated young individuals are all about. Nora, once again the Newspitter team congratulates you! However you are all winners in our book.
