With everything that’s going on in the world as of late, such as Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Boston, Occupy everything else, I’ve become utterly lost and confused as to what’s truly happening, especially behind closed doors. Everywhere I turn, someone is protesting something and it really makes me wonder, “What exactly are you protesting at the end of the day and is it warranting the results you expect?” So with me pondering on this question and I’m sure other individuals are too, when I came across this “letter” I couldn’t help but feel that I needed to share this with you all.
It’s sad but true everything that’s listed in here and any type of emotion, whether you are sad, angry, frustrated, surprised, etc is definitely acceptable because I felt all of these at ones. So what are your thoughts on this so called letter below?
I Divide The People To Conquer Them (A Letter Written By a Billionaire)
Dear Wage Slaves
Social change is a big joke, because the people are incapable of organizing themselves. You are all so divided, so scattered, so individualistic, so ‘independent’ that real social change will never take place. I let you dance and sing in the streets, I let you protest in front of banks, but at the end of the day you cannot do anything because you’re scattered.
You are all too obsessed with maintaining your individualities to present any genuine threat to the system, to my wealth, to the governments that protect me. You are so sickly in the way that you fantasize about being individual heroes. Your definition of individuality is so narrow-minded that you’ve forgotten that you need to work with your people. Your individuality is not accidental, your ‘American’ style individuality is a calculated effort to keep your social consciousness insulated.
I find it really funny, you all use the same tools, think the same thoughts, listen to the same music, wear the same clothes, but you are ‘all’ individuals. It really is quite hilarious how you think you’re politically independent when you all work for me, when your minds all slave away to justify my system.
All the jokes aside, there is nothing individualistic about you; in fact the more you think of yourself as an individual the more you become like everyone else. Liberals think they are staunch individuals, conservatives think they are cowboy individuals, it’s all a joke, you are all wage slaves.
You are slaves to my system, to my ideology, to my greed, you cannot even stand on your feet and question my hoarding of billions. You cannot even stand on your feet and question the amount of gold and wheat in my coffers, while children starve.
You make me sick, you all make me sick, the way you sit there waiting for tiny pay raises while I rob you blind. Your stupidity makes my stomach hurt, you sit awaiting a promotion like a good dog while the system is wired to keep you down. You go and vote while the politicians are all literally in my pocket. I laugh at you, in my mansion, in my palaces, I laugh at you and your stupid ‘individuality’.
- A Fortune 500 Billionaire
Here’s the part that truly got to me because I see it a lot within my generation: “I find it really funny, you all use the same tools, think the same thoughts, and listen to the same music…”in the 3rd paragraph. This is why for me I choose to go AGAINST the crowd.
I will NOT do something just b/c someone else is doing it. Matter of fact I’ll do the opposite just because someone else is doing it. Have you ever heard your mom say when you were younger, “If Timmy jumped off a bridge, would you too?” Well the same scenario applies.
So before you go out and “occupy X,Y and Z or jump in with the latest Iphone/Siri craze, make sure you have your own reasons why you’re doing so. Timmy can go jump off 1000 bridges. I’ll pass thank you.
