The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul made a special visit to New York’s popular radio station, Hot 97, earlier this week. During the on-air interview she spoke on her ever growing acting career. Specifically, the upcoming musical, Rock of Ages, where she stars alongside Russell Brand, Tom Cruise, and Alec Baldwin, which is set to debut in June.

Plans are also in the works for Mary to start shooting the Nina Simone biopic on October 17. On the music front, her upcoming My Life 2: The Journey Continues album is set to drop in November with featured production from Eric Hudson, Danja, Rico Love, Jerry Wonda, Swizz Beatz, Jim Jonsin, The Underdogs, and Jermaine Dupri.
