A 13-year-old boy was accused of attempting to rape his mother early Wednesday morning, according to Buffalo police.

The victim told police that her son subjected her to sexual contact about 3:30 a. m. while she was sleeping. That sexual contact woke her up and the boy told his mother, “I’m sorry mommy,” according to the complaint.

He then locked himself in the bathroom before fleeing on foot, police said. The woman went to Women& Children’s Hospital, where a rape kit was processed, said police, adding that the boy has been charged.
