The word planking seems to be everywhere but no one really knows what it is. Planking is the act of lying face down for a photograph. The term planking originated from Australia but is actually just another name for ‘the lying down game’ (kids should just go back to video games).
The specific instructions: to put your body face down to the ground (or table, or object, or anything) with your arms to the side. (Yup. That’s all). So why is everyone making such a fuss you ask? The more creative you can get “planking” the more likes your photo will receive.
Basically, it’s a social networking sensation (or should I say facebook sensation) since you need facebook for your “friends” to view the planking photo or it really wouldn’t be a game.
The Official Planking Facebook page has over almost 400,000 fans (and counting) tons of pictures showcasing the best plankers around the world. An Aussie man died for trying to plank on a balcony, plummeting 7 stories to the ground.
Police are growing concerned that people are trying to one up each other in their planking. When did people rather kill themselves playing a game than picking up a book and reading if you’re that bored?
