Apparently Russia is convinced that the United States proposed Europe -based missile defense system is aimed at them. Missile defense is intended to shield an entire country against incoming missiles, such as intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBMs) or other ballistic missiles.
Medvedev, President of Russia, stated in a press conference “If missile defense systems are to be developed — which would mean the disruption of strategic parity — the treaty could be suspended or even terminated,” he said, referring to the New START accord. “There are no other countries apart from Russia which have those capabilities, and they will not have them in the years to come,” he said.

Can someone please tell Russia to relax? A shield would be perfect for the U.S. Did we so quickly forget that North Korea, China and Pakistan have nukes? Sounds like Russia is just mad this was not a joint U.S-Russia defense missile system.
If the U.S and Russia were children right now, U.S would be the kid with the huge chocolate chip cookie and Russia would be the kid throwing a tantrum because he didn’t get one. Cut it out Russia. I’m sure you have other things you should be complaining about.
