Times have definitely changed from when Prince Charles married Diana Spencer in 1981; the wedding was watched by over 750 million people.

The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is expected to have over 2 billion viewers but recent polls show that more than 75% of Americans will not be watching the Royal Wedding.

So why do Americans just not care? With popular shows such as Jersey Shore, Bad Girls Club and Mob Wives it seems Americans enjoy more pandemonium and negativity.

We would be more prone to watch if there was a growing conflict between Kate Middleton and one of Prince Williams’s ex-girlfriends who would be in attendance at the wedding.

Most Americans, including me, need drama to keep our attention no matter how extravagant the wedding.

Many news channels are stating it’s due to the 4:00am start time.

This is a factor but definitely not the reason. If the season finale of True Blood or an NBA playoff game was on at 4:00am many Americans would be setting an alarm or recording it on their DVR.

Quite honestly, more people will be tuned in that night to hear Joan Rivers bash the worse dressed at the Royal Wedding. It could be because of threats being made by terrorists. Read about it Click Here
